| Brookfield 2005 While we're not quite finished with the house there must be decorations!

| Brookfield Progress Pictures 2005 Actually we have come quite a ways even from these pictures but I'm trying to do this in order and I haven't gotten around to taking pictures yet with the furniture in. So, here is what the house looked like the day we brought the furniture in - it is still a labor of love (but probably less painful than the labor of love coming up in November)!

| Brookfield "During" Pictures 2005 As promised, here are the pictures that answer the question, "how are things going". Progress has definitely been made - again we ask ourselves, "why do we do this, why can't we just move into a house like normal people, why oh why do we feel the need to take out at least one wall in every home we own"? But alas, here we go again - I'm sure with John's talents it will be worth it! I did include some pics of the outside so you can see what drew us to the house - we really love the outside of the home!

| Brookfield "Before" Pictures 2005 We have our first home in WI since we were both living at home! We bought a lovely old cape cod and cannot wait to move in. Of course, you all know us, we would never buy a home that one could just move into - no no, renovations abound and you will see the house in the "During Phase" next! Keep your fingers crossed that we are in the house before our new tenants move in to the duplex!!!!

Hartland Duplex 2004 We closed on our duplex today and have taken ownership. There is a bit of work to be done but not nearly what we had in the last house! Mostly just paint and some updating. Here are some "before" pictures and we'll have some up after we move in and get it "cutified". We are very fortunate to have tenants already who seem to be quite happy here, they have 3 children and seem very nice.

| Blizzard March 2003 Oh my, this was really crazy! The biggest storm to hit Colorado since 1913 hit this month and what a storm it was. Over 6 feet of snow, wet heavy snow, hit our house. John was skiing to find trees he could cut down so we had a fire! Luckily John bought a small generator and was able to keep one pellet stove going, although he had to go out every hour (all day and all night) to fill it with gas. We lost power (which at our house includes water - yikes) at 6am Wednesday and were restored Saturday at noon. Fortunately for us, our wonderful neighbors helped us out. One family brought groceries and a warm pizza to us (we couldn't get out of the driveway, 500 feet of 6 foot deep snow), and another came and rescued us and brought us to a wonderful hotel where we could shower and feel normal again. We are so very lucky to live by such great people. Check out the front end loader that had to clear our driveway - that guy was making a nice little profit that day in our neck of the woods! But we made it and now have fun stories to tell but we are a little shell-shocked and every time we see a snowflake we start firing up the cars!!
